There are various dog containment systems on the market. The most commonly asked question by customers is “which is the best system for my dog?”. Unlike bark control collars, invisible dog fence requires greater thought before purchasing as it is dependent extremely important factors such as: the dogs breed and size? what’s the dog motivation to escape? what size area is the dog to be contained in? can the dog submerge the collar in water? Therefore for your convenience, DogMaster Trainers has created this containment system quick buying guide to help you purchase the correct invisible dog fence with confidence.
SIZE OF DOG/DOGS
It’s easy in a one escaping dog situation, just simply go to our dog containment system comparison table to purchase the best system for the size of your dog. However, it becomes a little more complicated if you have escaping dogs that are different sizes and breeds. The Num'axes Canifugue Invisible Dog Fence and PAC dog containment system are highly recommended when the dogs are different sizes and breeds. The Num'axes Canifugue system has 3 stimulation output range to suit different dog breeds. The small and lightweight collar suits dog from 5kg in weight. Therefore, if you have a Jack Russell, a Border Collie and a Bull Mastiff, you can set the Num'axes Canifugue dog fence collar with simulation range 1, 2 and 3 for these 3 dogs.

The PAC fence also comes with Standard Collar (F6c) for medium to large stubborn dogs and Mini Collar (F8c) for dogs and cats from 2.5kg. You can have these two collars in one containment system. The collar will auto adjustable the collar by itself so each dogs will receive different levels of stimulation.
SIZE OF AREA
The capacity of covering a larger area is dependent on the output of transmitter and thickness of wire. If you are doing a large area, the small thin gauge wire will cause too much resistance and the radio signal is not transmitting further enough to cover the full length of wire. This may cause an “invisible break” of wire in a certain area. DogMaster Trainers sources our own DMT 1.5mm thicker gauge wire for customer with large properties. The 1.5mm gauge wire is more than double the thickness of the standard PetSafe radio fence wire. It lasts for longer, does not easy to break and causes very little resistance.
SPECIAL SITUATION
WATER
If you have water around the property then a containment system with a waterproof collar is recommended.
DEAF DOG
If you have a deaf dog, most of containment system will warning tone won't work, we will recommend the Dogtra EF3500 dog fence which has vibration warning instead of tone.

1. Battery Backup
The Battery backup means the transmitter will switch to battery operated mode when external power has been cut off. It will keep the system operating for a short period of time without external power.
2. Run Through Prevention
The receiver automatically increases the stimulation when your dog continues more than 1/3 of the way through the containment field, regardless of the transmitter stimulation level setting. For example, if the signal is detected 3 metres from the wire and your dog enters the containment field, this feature is activated when the dog is approximately 2 metres from the wire. At this point, your dog automatically receives the highest levels of stimulation.
3. Break Wire Alarm
The transmitter will start beeping if there is a broken/break of the containment system loop wire.
4. Microprocessor Based Code
The microprocessor based code eliminate false signals so the system will not affect/interupt by other radio transmitting devices
